Testimonies

One of our big testimonies is you! Through your persistent prayers and support, the ministry here in the village has been sustained and God is at work. Thank you so much for the impact you have had on many lives here both directly and indirectly. May you find strength and encouragement in these stories of God’s unfailing love and providence.

Martin’s story

It was on one Saturday afternoon during our kid’s bible study class when all of a sudden he started screaming loudly as he fell down to the ground peeing on himself and hitting the ground so hard with his head. The rest of the kids started also screaming and crying as they fled away and the class was so out of control. Not really sure what to do, I (Sheilla) quickly ran to Martin, held him in my hands and prayed as tears rolled out of my eyes. It was the first time I had seen someone in so much anguish. We talked about the incident with my husband (Ashton) and prayed for God’s guidance.

Martin’s parents are subsistence farmers with 8 children. They are struggling financially and are not able to cater to Martin’s medical needs on top providing the basic needs of all their 8 children.

It’s been 3 months now since Martin started receiving proper treatment and his health has greatly improved. God has used Martin’s life and story to show his power, love and affection. Martin constantly sings praises to God and wants to become a Pastor when he grows up. His family and so many others in the village are so thankful to God for what He is doing. Our prayer still remains, that through all this, our community will see God’s love and be drawn to Him.

God Provides

At the beginning of 2019, Ashton’s mode of transport had always been a motorbike (200cc dirt-bike). He has always loved it, and used it to get around and also bring supplies from the city that we can’t get in the village. At one point, I (Ashton) rode my motorbike to Malawi, about 2000 miles away, to see my brother, Cole. Even after I got married to Sheilla in 2018, we would use it to travel back and forth with supplies strapped on behind us. But as ministry grew, It became difficult to ride with all the heavy luggage and the muddy roads became almost impassable in the rainy season. We began to pray for provision for a car because we could not afford one. Months passed as we prayed and our hope was fading yet the need for a car grew everyday. Eventually after about 5 long months, God provided us with the exact amount of money and the right car for our village. We bought the car used and it has certainly taken a lot of work to keep it running. Sheilla and I are often reminded of how thankful we are for our car whenever it rains while we are traveling or when we encounter slippery muddy roads.
